I finally talked Chris into letting me purchase some of the more expensive cloth diapers. We bought primarily the BumGenius 3.0s but we also snagged a Happy Heiny and a FuzziBunz. Oh, and one BumGenius 2.0 -- I haven't used it yet though as it's pink. I still prefer the BG's, but the other two will come in handy when I just need that extra diaper. Our first shipment came Wednesday so we started them Thursday. Our next shipment will come sometime next week -- I can't wait! That'll give us 13 diapers. 10 BG's that I'll want to use on a regular basis. 1 BG that will only be a night diaper. And two others for backups. It'd be great if we could afford to get Kairi in a cloth diaper fulltime as well, but they're so expensive and it was already out of our budget....
Actually, that's what I plan on getting Alex for his birthday ... more diapers. ;) And it's all I really want from other people. We have clothes. (I mean, the boy is still in 6/9 month clothes.....we may have enough clothes to last him another year if he keeps growing at this rate. Especially now that I invested in pants w/ an adjustable waist band.) And this house already looks like ToyRUs threw up in it. So diapers is all he's getting from us!

I wish I could have done that... just say diapers for gifts. But I'm scared people will throw huggies at us for one lol. Besides, my mom is going over the top w/ gifts & the only other person who's even asked wants to get her something "cute". As cute as I think they are, I don't think they'll go w/ diapers lol.
I wish we could try a couple diff pocket brands. Let me know how they are! It's about time for us to pick up our Sept BG... I'm looking forward to it. Will put us at 9 (counting our ugly pink one that needs the elastic fixed, so really just 8 usuable ones). So far I can go a full day w/ them including the night before & after... but then I'd have to wash daily to repeat, so we basically alternate days or just use at night until we have a day where we know we'll be out.
So far, I definitely prefer the BG's to the other two. The HH barely fits him right. It's more of a boxy shape that curved and just doesn't fit right. The FB isn't bad, just not great. I prefer the elastic to the snap tabs as they're faster to put on a wiggly baby. I'm washing diapers every night. Not thrilled with it, but it works for us. I'm hoping that w/ birthday presents, we'll have enough to last 2 days. I'm specifying where to buy diapers for anyone that asks. I really want just plain white BGs ... I don't really want the color ones. But I'll take as many as I can get!
Oh yeah, what's Kalila's actual birthday? I can't seem to remember....
I kinda wish we could get the snaps because Kalila is great at pulling off velcro lol. But you're right about velcro being faster.
I'm trying to stay away from the pink ones - partly because I don't like the colour, but also because if we have a boy next are we really going to want to use the pink ones on him?
I have washed daily, and can regularly I suppose lol, but as much laundry as we have it's just easier to do them every two days here. As it is I'm behind on our clothes.
Kalila's bday is 28th September... We're actually having to have Kalila's party the first weekend in Oct because that weekend is going to be crazy. Jason has to dance at Magic (a huge fundraiser at our Church) on the 27th & the 28th the Bishop is going to be here (well he's here th.at weekend... but still will be at Mass the 28th) - so noone would be able to do anything that weekend.
Alex's is in October right? I remember they weren't that far apart lol
I can see the snaps being good in case she's taking them off ... but I just can't get it on him fast enough. lol ...
I'm majorly behind on laundry too. I mean, it's piled up everywhere. But as long as diapers are getting washed and we all have a choice of clothes each day, I'm not worried about it! lol
