A Facial Hair Solution for Young Men!

And young women ... hehehe

That's the total number of pictures I have to share at the moment. We're spending a little bit of time in East Texas with Chris' family. I've taken tons of pictures-- several very cute ones -- but the only ones that have made their way onto a computer so far are those two! :)

There's not much to update on right now. We're enjoying our time with the Pyles and both babies are relishing in their grandparents' attention. Kairi has exploded in her language abilities! She is mimicking all sorts of words and sounds. She is so very smart! Kairi crawls every evening once Papa is off of work, into his lap in his big easy chair and they cuddle, read, and play together. It's a very sweet sight. She also shares Grandma's jewelery with her, and rearranges her tupperware cabinet on a regular basis.

Alex is generally in a good mood and still a very social boy. Until today, that is. He's running a fever and Grandma's run to the store to buy a thermometer (b/c a bad Mommy forgot to pack one) and more Tylenol.

We leave this area and head back to Midland Tuesday. On our way we'll stop in Dallas where Grandad Bigby will be having another procedure on his throat to help keep it open. We'll meet up w/ my parents and grandparents there, and then all travel back to Midland together. Keep Grandad Bigby, and Mimi, in your prayers.

Until next time,
God Bless!

Monday was a crazy day! Things were hectic, but by 6:45 all was fairly settled down and we were ready for it to begin.

Once everyone was in the room, "Do You Love Me?" from Fiddler on the Roof began playing. (Have you ever heard the song I'm talking about? If you haven't, you should. And if you don't know my family, then you should know that the humor of that movie and of the song fit us all very well, and you should know that Fiddler on the Roof is my all-time favorite movie.)
After the song ended the sound clip from my dad's proposal was played.

Then I walked in, followed by my brothers, and my parents. The ceremony was beautiful. He talked reread the verses from the original ceremony and then they recommitted themselves to each other and God.

Kairi played and talked and giggled through the whole thing. :) She was adorable. And someone (don't ask me who, but I'm fairly certain it was a female family member ... lol) was holding Alex for me.

As we walked out Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" played in the background.

Afterwards there were a lot pictures and chatting w/ the family. The wedding cake looked just like the original. :) We all had a great time -- it was a very special day.

Here's the few pictures that I took myself.

3 days before the "wedding" ....

3 days before my parents renew their vows and four of us are sick. The pediatrician's office was so booked that they couldn't see the babies. My new doctor (replacing the dr that I've seen since I was born who retired Dec 31, 2007) would have seen me, if he hadn't had eye surgery yesterday.

My mom, daughter, son and I trudged our way into the secondary hospital campus's e.r. We were there from 10:30am until 4:45pm. Here are the results:

~Kairi has an ear infection in her left ear. She is recovering from a cold.
~Alex has an upper respiratory infection, but is not being treated b/c he is too young. If he gets worse I'm to take him back and have him retested for RSV.
~Mama has an upper respiratory infection.
~I have a severe cold. I don't believe him. I think that I have the same upper respiratory infection that they have, but that I'm just not as far along. If I'm still sick on Monday, I'm calling my new doctor and seeing if he will take a look at me.

I have new pictures to post, but I honestly feel too bad to do so. Instead, I'm curling up on the couch with Alex and going to sleep. Goodnight!

Almost done

We're almost done. Really and truly almost done. With the wedding plans, that is. Here's what's left:

~Order party trays for the reception.
~Pay for the wedding cake.
~Finish paying for the chocolate cake.
~Buy the last of the reception foods (mints, chocolates, nuts, etc.) and decorations.
~Make a song cd for the reception.

All else gets done that day. We even got a photographer today! I'm really excited about him. He's super good and gave us an amazing deal. If these pictures turn out as well as I'm hoping they will, he'll become my babies photographer for anytime I'm in town! :D

Here's a few pictures from today.

Sssss, k?

Kairi was watching me this morning while I changed Alex's diaper on the bed. He was screaming at me b/c I didn't get the job done fast enough. So Kairi walked up to the bed and patted his foot going "sssss, sssss, sssss, k? sssss, sssssssssssss, sssss, k?" She didn't stop until he was quiet. At which point she walked off all proud of herself b/c she made him happy. :D

Here's some pictures from yesterday and today.

Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year

But maybe not quite in that order.

Christmas went well at our house, as you know. New Years Day has come and gone and we enjoyed ourselves. Well, everyone besides Alex and I enjoyed the day. New Years Eve Alex started screaming non-stop. He would then spit up, burp, fart, scream, spit up, burp, fart, and on and on. He also kept aspirating the spit up before it came out of his mouth. That would cause for junky breathing, which scares the crap out of me. Mama and I traded off every couple of hours on who was holding him. He'd sleep for about 15 minutes and then wake up screaming. And the cycle would start all over again. This lasted that entire night, and the next day. Last night I finally got enough rice cereal in him that he stopped spitting up and slept. He slept all night long! He didn't want to eat until 8am!!! So Mommy finally got some MUCH needed rest.

Today is Chris's birthday. I can't imagine what it must be like to spend your birthday all alone in the middle of the ocean. I hope that today was a good day for him. If you get a chance, email him w/ birthday thoughts. Even if they're late, I'm sure that they would be appreciated.

I also wanted to share a few pictures from the past couple of days.
